A 'Hi' call for socializing :
|
"A HI Call" is an interactive installation designed to underscore the significance of interaction in our public spaces and initiate a dialogue about the layered community within the Qatari community.
This installation depends on an intelligent sensor system, requiring a minimum of two individuals to engage its distinctive features. Structurally, it takes inspiration from the Arabic Mushrabia concept, presented in a modern style with mirrors integrated into each surface. The mirrors are strategically positioned based on mathematical equations to create openings. As two individuals stand on opposite sides of an element, they observe their reflections on the mirror. Simultaneously, at eye level, they encounter the eyes and face of the other person.
Functioning within a dark, ambient space, the installation remains inactive until two people activate it from opposing sides. Two sensors and lights on either side of the installation work in tandem. The circuit activates only when one person stands on the first side and another on the opposite side, resulting in the simultaneous illumination of lights. This action unveils the reflections of both individuals, fostering a unique visual dialogue.
This captivating unit is replicated 20 times within a space, creating a group interaction that highlights the interconnectedness between strangers.
